Thomas Hardye Sixth Form

Sixth Form Open Evening

The Sixth Form Team is excited to welcome prospective students from across Dorset to our Open Evening at 6pm on Thursday 24th October. It is the ideal opportunity to meet our staff, see what subjects are on offer and get a taste of the wide range of enrichment activities available. A warm and friendly welcome is waiting for all those who are keen to take their next exciting steps towards advanced level study and professional qualifications.

On arrival guests will receive a copy of the prospectus, entry requirements and option pools. However, all of these important documents will be available online also in the coming days.

We have great pleasure in welcoming guests from other schools and know that these new students really help make the Sixth Form what it is today. On the night, these guests will be given a brief tour from some of our wonderful student guides. All guests can then choose which departments they want to visit to discuss the courses that they offer in more depth. Members of staff and lots of student guides will be available to answer any questions that guests have.

We recommend that all guests attend the main presentation about the Sixth Form in the theatre. The 25-minute presentation is led by members of the student union and features the head teacher and head of sixth from. It is repeated three times across the night at 6:15, 7:00 and 7:45.

Within the Sixth Form Centre, guests will find information about the many enrichment opportunities on offer, Extended Project Qualification, Student Union, 16 – 19 Bursary, Transport links and more; as well as refreshments being sold in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Applications for September 2025 can be made online after the Open Evening. All guests will receive an email after attending the Open Evening with a link to their application form, or can visit our website to start a new application. NB: Unfortunately we are not able to send a confirmation email when you register to attend the Open Evening. If in doubt, just come along and register on the night.

The Thomas Hardye School is Outstanding (OFSTED). It is a vibrant and dynamic place to study and we are really excited to show prospective students our school and for them to be part of our future.
